The backstory of V'rheki Noreh
Merle Fyth was born in the hidden-away Viera village of Fyth, located within the Golmore Jungle. Their mother, Tiril, believed their birth to be a bad omen and/or unlucky, as within a few years, she was forced to take a young Merle and flee, as the small family was banished from the village for a reason yet unknown to the child. While Merle does remember the details of how and when they came to leave the comfort of their home, they do not remember the details of why they did, only that their mother dragged them with her when she left the wood.
For years, the duo survived in the harsh wilderness beyond the wood, barely scraping by on some occasions, with Merle spending the better part of their childhood away from any other form of social contact. This lead to the young Viera growing up rather anti-social and reclusive, being forced into avoiding any contact with the various other species going about their days around them. The average day of Merle at this point consisted of being dragged around by their mother as to assist her with her tasks, ducking and hiding when any kind of official-looking personage reared their heads, and being taught how to hunt so that the duo could eat and live on. To make matters worse, when the young Viera's coming of age was just around the corner, Tiril up and left them, simply leaving the Rava a note saying she has to "go elsewhere for work".The forced lack of socialization growing up, topped off by now being all on their own, came to a head one day when a now free to do as they want Merle was caught red handed spying on a group of similarly aged people. This group of "earless ones", as their mother called them, mercilessly chased the preteen-aged rabbit down an alleyway, cornering them and bullying them for having different ears than the rest of them. When Merle acted in self defense towards the bullies, lashing out at the group, the bullies became visibly pissed off, now beginning to actually attack her. As though a ray of hope from Hydaelyn herself, a nearby teenage Miqo'te girl heard the scuffle occurring, and rushed to intervene, warding off the attacking bullies. The young cat girl, revealing her name as V'mitrhi, brushed off a bruised and beaten Merle, asking her several questions about the situation. Upon learning from a rather shy Merle that her mother left her, the Miqo'te girl was furious and offered her a place to stay, provided they were willing to travel with her back to the tribe she comes from. Since she had no where else to go, and likely couldn't stay now that her assailants knew what the both of them looked like, Merle accepted eagerly. The two of them departed on their short adventure across Thanalan, towards the homelands of the Miqo'te Vulture tribe, the two of them getting to know one another quite well; or so one would believe, based on how the V tribe kitty never stopped talking to the almost mute Viera.Upon arriving at the village, the Viera was not quite treated as one of their own due to being a Viera, but was nonetheless allowed to stay with the tribe to rest up and heal their bruises. Sometime later, a rather humorous interaction occurred: V'mitrhi, trying to help out her new friend, came to Merle's newly built house, offering to them a basket with a couple put together outfits from her tribe. A major shock happened when, upon Merle opening the door, standing before the Miqo'te was a Viera that, while starting to go through puberty, had started blossoming into a female. Considering both of the friends hadn't seen one another in quite some time, due to V'mitrhi being sent off on the daily for chores and trade trips, and the Viera herself being placed on the very outskirts of the village, the Miqo'te girl had assumed Merle as a male, as she had not known that both genders of Viera look the same until they come of age. The now extremely flustered V'mitrhi apologized over and over for assuming what Merle was / would turn into, causing the Rava girl to have to pet her head to calm her down. The years continue to pass, the once totally awkward Viera now able to approach people and hold a conversation, the caveat being, however, that she found a decent amount of stress forming every time she was in the midst of many people. Her one solace when things became too stressful for her was music. Upon randomly overhearing a member of the tribe perform with a Flute, she grew a strange fascination with more whimsical music, later on in life choosing to create it herself, so that others can experience the feeling of wonder she once had. Choosing to name herself after the tribe that accommodated her, now known to the world as V'rheki Noreh (a name suggested to her by her friend), the blossoming Rava woman took up several odd jobs and tasks for the tribe, the likes of which ranging from simply exchanging goods at a nearby point to hunting down a rather dangerous creature. By this point, she had also changed her looks as well, choosing to trim her once rather long hair into a more medium-length cut, applying touches of red dye here and there to accent, the vast amount of time she has spent in the sun darkening the tone of her skin beyond what most of her former village would ever reach. While assisting the tribe in their many endeavors over the years did allow her to make a name for herself within, she was still treated as though an outsider on many occasions, the tribe's Nunh sometimes outright telling her to stay out of the village when folks were awake, as having someone such as her / not a Miqo'te doing things for them could upset the village. While, for the most part, V'rheki didn't fully mind this, as she tended to prefer the company of nature and it's quietness, she still longed for interactions that were not just business, only rarely getting a chance to have more friendly social interactions in the small bar of sorts the village had. Nonetheless, she still graciously accepted what hospitality she'd receive, choosing to hunt for the tribe with her own free will more often than not.The days flew by one after another, and while the Viera had stopped aging a while ago, the rest of her new found people did not. This too lead to the village's mistrust of her and her kind. One day, the Mail Moogle that occasionally dropped by with letters for the tribe's current Nunh actually had a letter for the Rava woman, the sender of which was unknown. Based on the writing style of said letter, she assumed it was written by a fellow Viera from what little info she's gathered about her people over the years, but what truly caught her eye was the Wanted poster filed in with the piece of parchment. While it was rather old and unreadable in places, the face plastered upon the Wanted poster was as clear as day to the Rava woman: Her own mother Tiril Fyth. Even if the details of the poster was smudged, the general revelations caused by seeing her mother being wanted finally allowed V'rheki some clarity as to the situation surrounding her childhood: she and her mother were not banished for little reason, Tiril had committed a criminal act within their home village, and were thus chased out, or left in fear of being hunted.Taking this revelation as an excuse to leave home and explore the world, perhaps find some more answers, V'rheki accepted a long-distance delivery task from her employer, and the newest Nunh of the village: V'nahmhe, and departed. Even if it took her the rest of her 300+ year lifespan to find out the truth, she would get some answers as to what her mother did, why she did it, and perhaps learn more about her fuzzy-memoried past.
(Her story is still a WIP somewhat, so if you have any suggestions on how to improve the wording, detail, etc, feel free to message me!)
Guidelines (Also known as OOC)
Rules for RP:1.) Please be respectful
- If an RP isn't going the way you want it, please talk to me about it and we'll work something out.
- Shouting and/or cursing at my face is more liable to get me to block you than sort out any issue we may be having.
- Friendly snark / jabs are allowed, but continual shade being thrown at me or my characters is not.
2.) Please discuss topics / prompts first
- Roleplay is, most of the time, an activity that takes more than one person to play out, that means it needs more than one mind thinking on how to proceed. If you wish to steer our roleplay in a certain direction, move us to a different location, etc, please discuss with me!
- Sudden major changes to location, plot progression, etc, without my consent, can be grounds for me to suspend the roleplay.
- Certain topics can cause discomfort, so please talk to me if you wish to include more "controversial" scenarios or topics (will be explained upon further below)
3.) Please from turning it into ERP
- I have very little interest in that kind of thing, so its more likely to steer me away than get me interested.
- More mature / suggestive topics and scenes ARE allowed, however, but please talk to me about it first.
4.) Please put some effort into your posts
- I'm not a stickler for quality, grammar, etc
- But please actually try to make a good reply / post
- Single line replies will be asked to elaborate further
- 3 pages of internal monologuing with very little action for me to reply to isn't appreciated either
- My average post / reply is multiple-line, 2-3 small paragraphs. You don't have to be exactly like me, but if a post is too short or WAY too long, it can confuse me.
5.) Please be kind to me OOC as well
- I can sometimes be either shy, anxious, or depressed, so please gently poke me if I'm not getting back to you on something.
- While you are allowed to be mean / evil ICly, please refrain from being a butt to me outside of RP.
- I won't get mad at you over misgendering me, since it's not something I fully am willing to care about, but continued intent to act in a biggoted fashion to me will be met with me blocking you, potentially.
- You can appeal / apologize to me if you've been mean to me, accidentally done something to wrong me, etc. Just because I ended our roleplay, doesn't mean I want you to never contact me again. Try try again!
- Debating me over who's best girl will be met with a boot to the head (This is a joke)
What I will do:
- Adventure, Slice of Life, Drama, Combat RP, etc
- More dark themes (Sometimes, please ask first)
- Non-Vanilla / Lore Friendly RP (Though I usually make my characters as "Can actually exist in Eorzea" as possible, I'm fine with those that are more out there. Again, talk to me about it)
- "Not me" Romance (aka if you want to invite me to your roleplay wedding or such, go ahead! I also do double dates if you want to bring your mate / etc with you)
- More (Discuss with me, I'm very open to trying new things!)What I won't do:
- Grimdark (aka if characters are constantly dying, being the victim of a Gore-fest, etc)
- Overly racey content (Even in the context of canonical FF XIV, characters can be racist against one another, so I'm not going to shut you out for hating on Lalafell for example. BUT, if you're constantly being a hater or such, there will likely be a problem)
- Overpowered RP (I like making characters that feel like they could honestly be a background character and/or NPC somewhere. So please, don't try and turn the RP into some multi-dimensional clash between gods or what not. Having a somewhat beefy quirk can be okay, talk to me about it first.)
- SUPER Lore-breaking (If you're a Lalafell Au Ra hybrid that is 9 feet tall, has Z cup tits, and can fly, please don't use that character with me. To be more serious: Things such as unbelievable hybrids, overly modded / breaking species canon edits to races, etc)
- Crossovers (I want to keep a roleplay about Final Fantasy XIV grounded in the reality of Final Fantasy XIV, please. Even if it's a fandom I also enjoy like The Owl House, please don't suddenly drag a character or thing from a different media into it. If you want to make cheeky references to something / someone, sure why not, but don't outright say "Yeah I'm X character, but in Eorzea" or be related to someone, etc)
Limit / Tolerance for Hostility:While I can deal with people roleplaying as Hostile characters, assholes somewhat, etc, there is indeed a limit to what I'm okay with.
If your character is a villain, kind of a butthead, has a cold / harsh exterior, etc: Okay
If your character exists solely to debate, cause a shit storm, yell at my character's faces, etc (aka overly toxic to the point you have to constantly check to see if I'm okay): Not Okay
OOC Information:Important Edit: So as I just found out by poking my head into the Quicksand, rather large crowds of people RPing and/or talking over one another has the potential to make me uncomfortable.
So while I do make plans to attend "venues" of sorts, please know that I may bow my head out / go stand outside if I get overstimulated.Hi hello!
I go by the name Virdia Noire in many places, and if you squint hard enough, you can tell this character's name is an adaption that that kinda, lol
I am above the age of 20 (closer to being 30 now x-x)
I am a big nerd that gets addicted to certain fandoms at times, namely The Owl House and sometimes Godzilla (it aint the way it used to be...)
I am a MTF Trans girl, though unless you ask me, I usually won't tell you that in-order to not have people being a butt to me over gender politics =w=I have been playing FF14 on and off since mid-2016 (really lost my life to it during HW era), so while I am very much-so interested in it, please forgive me if I'm not THAT knowledgeable about things, especially since it's sometimes hard to tell what's canonical and what's fan canon. While I don't quite know what flavor of neurodivergency I have, it causes me to be an anxious bean at times, as well as have issues with overly "dudebro" types on the internet (or just people that act like asses in-general).
So as it says up there in my Rules section, if you act like a butthead to me over things, I'll probably just walk away and/or block you depending on the severity.
Otherwise, I consider myself to be a VERY welcoming and mellow person, able to befriend almost anyone if I think they're a good person.
So please, don't hesitate to poke me about silly nerd things, or otherwise just have a chat, I'd love to!
RP Hooks
Miqo'te Tribe
V'rheki has spent the better part of her life living with the Vulture tribe of the Miqo'te, performing various tasks and hunts for the people there. A Viera living amongst a group of a far different race from her own and practicing their culture is certainly an oddity, and would perhaps be willing to share her experiences on the matter, were someone to ask, especially in regards to their treatment of her.
Bard
At some point during her many travels, V'rheki has picked up a love for listening to and performing music. The Viera would be happy to discuss the subject, or play a tune or two, if asked.
Mysterious Family
Due to several details as to the nature of her childhood still being a mystery to her, V'rheki has embarked on a personal journey to figure out the story behind her Mother's apparent thievery, and would gladly accept any help gathering information and/or tracking her down. This hook can also extend to finding out more about her blood-related family that she barely remembers.
